About the Author

Amy Leput Strahl’s youth was spent in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA where her life with Blackie occurred. From ages five to six, she and her family befriended an injured crow. The valuable lessons the crow taught have lasted a lifetime.

She has two degrees in education and spent decades teaching.  The only grade she did NOT teach was seventh.  She is now retired and spends her time observing, studying, and communing with Mother Nature.

She is the mother of two adult sons. She and her husband, of nearly five decades, Robert, reside in Maryland.
